Impressions – Ruhr Valley (2)

Dortmund City Sight from the Deusenberg, Ruhr Valley, Germany
Picture by Lyrix, testing the compact camera that my sister ceded me (step by step, we’re getting familiar, the Lumix and i … but still some room for improvement 😅)

Quickshot on the casual walk with my dogs. (Here to see: Tinka, 15 years, Labrador Terrier Crossbreed; missing: Kara, 9 years, English Springer-Clumber Crossbread ), …also on the picture:

Dortmund
Biggest city in the Ruhr Valley and the place i live for more than 20 years. The city is well known for its popular soccer club Borussia Dortmund, winner of the European Champions League in 1996.
I’ll tell more about Dortmund in upcoming articles (and show better pictures, promised! 😊)

Cross Bike Course on the Deusenberg
There were no bikers this evening, so my dogs could run the parcours 😁
It is a very nice route on the top of the Deusenberg Mountain, which is a „Halde“ (a former dumping ground, closed and renaturalized as a local recreation area. There are lots of such „Halden“ all over the Ruhr Valley.)

Ruhr Valley
The Ruhr Valley is the biggest agglomeration in Germany. More than 5 millon people live here within an area of about 4.400 km². Together with the citys Cologne, Dusseldorf, Wuppertal, Solingen and Remscheid it builds the Rhine-Ruhr Metropolitan Area… with a population of more than 10 million people it is one of Europes five megacitys. (The others are Moscow, Paris, London and Istanbul)

Gib deinen ab

      1. Ich bin immer wieder erstaunt, wieviele Blogger hier in der Nähe leben. Im Grunde quatsch, das ist schließlich nicht so unwahrscheinlich bei der dichten Besiedlung im Pott und drumherum 😄
